Hi, I’m John.
I’m a Registered Valuer and work with Valuation Partners as a consultant, supporting the team and sharing what I’ve learned over more than 40 years in the profession.
I began my career with the Government Valuation Department in Hamilton in 1977 and became registered in 1980. I came home to Dunedin in 1983 and went into practice on my own account in 1996. I later took over the practice of Peter Jackson and ran a sucsesful business for many years, valuing residential, commercial, industrial and rural property across Otago.
I’ve always believed in giving back to the profession. I spent many years on the New Zealand Institute of Valuers Otago Branch Committee.
These days I’ve stepped back from running my own practice and enjoy working alongside the team at Valuation Partners. I help valuers with complex assignments and pass on the practical lessons a long career teaches you.
These days you’ll likely find me tramping or skiing, and I keep active with swimming and cycling. I’m always happy to have a yarn about property, or about the best tracks in the South Island.
